Subject: MetaPost for web2c-6.1/kpathsea-2.6

Hi folks,

I have recently spend some time trying to adabt John Hobby's MetaPost
distribution for web2c-6.1 with kpathsea-2.6.

In subsequent mails I'll send out three files:

1) web2c.mp.notes -- Instructions and explanations how to proceed.

2) web2c.mp.shar  -- A shar file (produced with GNU sharutils-4.1)
             containing some extra files needed in addtion
             to web2c and the original MetaPost distribution.

3) web2c.mp.patch -- A patch file containing changes to some files
             from web2c and the original MetaPost distribution
             that needed to be adapted or updated.

Be sure to read web2c.mp.notes on how to rearrange the files from
metapost.tar.gz in your web2c source tree before you start unpacking
web2c.mp.shar and applying the patches in web2c.mp.patch.

I would very much like to see MetaPost integrated in the standard web2c
distribution eventually, now that it has been put in the public domain.

I do not plan to do much further work about the maintenace of MetaPost
for web2d-6.1 as it works fine for me now, and that's all what I wanted.
